THE CLEAN CREEK Campaign is a public education/community outreach program to prevent water pollution and illegal dumping into creeks.
The campaign includes:
- community-based and citywide creek cleanups
- Adopt-a-Creek
- school presentations
- support for school teachers who want to do creek projects, including monitoring and cleanups in local creeks
- storm drain stenciling
- leadership and support central to Creek to Bay Day
- development of outreach materials, media outreach, and implementation of various public education and outreach strategies that promote local creek awareness, community stewardship and sustainability.
Funding
The program is funded by grants from the Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District.
